Artist's Statement My oil paintings are informed by the history and current practice of landscape symbolism. Of particular interest are the art theories and practices of Scandinavia, Germany, Britain, Russia, USA and Canada. Art theorists and practitioners of particular interest to me are Richard Bergh, Henri Bergson, Carl Gustav Carus, Kandinsky and Gerhard Richter. Key aspects of my practice are light and colour aesthetics, and time and memory theories. Current Projects 1.
